The CX732Q-M-H is a 1U core switch built on the Marvell Falcon ASIC. It packs 32 ports of 400GbE QSFP-DD and 2 ports of 10GbE SFP+ into a single 3.2 Tbps switching fabric, with a forwarding rate of 2.8 Bpps and 24MB of packet buffer. That combination is meant for the spine/core tier of leaf-spine (CLOS) fabrics, AI/ML clusters, and hyperscale data center networks — the layer that has to absorb east-west traffic from multiple leaf switches without becoming the choke point.
It ships preloaded with AsterNOS, Asteraix's Enterprise SONiC-based network operating system. That gets you a full Layer 2/Layer 3 feature set — VXLAN, BGP-EVPN, OSPFv2/v3, MLAG, ECMP — alongside automation interfaces (ZTP, RESTful APIs, NETCONF/YANG, gNMI) designed to plug into existing infrastructure-as-code pipelines rather than forcing a new management workflow on your team.
For high-availability requirements, AsterNOS adds EVPN multihoming for all-active server redundancy without dedicated peer links, and optional MPLS support for label-switched path management across complex topologies. An optional network packet broker container — built on SONiC's containerized architecture — adds traffic mirroring, filtering, aggregation, and load balancing without a separate appliance.
Timing-sensitive deployments can add the optional PTP extension card, supporting IEEE 1588v2 and SMPTE 2059-2 with PTP Class C accuracy (≤10ns maximum time error) — relevant for use cases like financial trading infrastructure or broadcast networks where clock synchronization is non-negotiable.

    OPTIONAL

Enterprise SONiC Asteraix’s Switches with PTP Support

Our switch fully supports IEEE1588 PTPv2 and SMPTE 2059-2 standards both through hardware and software. The hardware port supports PTP as a Boundary Clock (BC) or Transparent Clock (TC), with customizable modules to fit customer needs. On the software side, Asteraix leads the way in implementing and optimizing PTP in SONiC, delivering top performance on our AsterNOS Enterprise Distribution. Currently, it supports PTP Class C with a maximum time error of ≤10 ns.

    OPTIONAL

    Network Packet Broker Functionality

The SONiC-based campus switches CX-M series take full advantage of SONiC’s open and containerized architecture, and fully leverage its capabilities by installing the new APP-PB container and deploying packet broker docker functionality on SONiC.

This integration unlocks a range of advanced features, including traffic mirroring, raw data tagging, filtering, aggregation, preprocessing, load balancing, and output replication.

    SONiC

SONiC decouples the network operating system from switch hardware. Built on Linux with a containerized architecture, it programs switching ASICs through SAI (the Switch Abstraction Interface), so the…
