Zero Touch Provisioning automates bringing a network device online. On first boot an unconfigured switch requests an address over DHCP, receives the location of a provisioning server (often via DHCP options), then downloads and applies its OS image, configuration and any post-install scripts automatically. ZTP removes manual console configuration, making large fleet roll-outs fast, consistent and less error-prone.
