The CX102S-16GT-M-DPU-SWP is an all-in-one switch, gateway, and server
that combines a 16× 1GbE RJ45 + 2× 10G SFP+ access switch with one or two Marvell® OCTEON™ TX2 CN9130 DPUs on the backplane, connected to the switch fabric over 10GbE. Built on the Marvell® Prestera® 98DX2556 (98DX25xx family) switch ASIC running Enterprise SONiC (AsterNOS), it delivers 70 Gbps of switching capacity while the DPUs run independent compute workloads — collapsing switch, gateway, and server into a single 1U device for small businesses, branch offices, and SOHO deployments.
With 13K IPv4 routes, 6.5K IPv6 routes, and 32K MAC entries on the switching side, and 4-core Arm® Cortex-A72 CPUs with hardware encryption engines on each DPU, the device covers both the L2/L3 networking and the compute workload of a small site from one 1U box.
One device, three roles
A single box takes on the work normally split across a switch, a router/gateway, and an application server — suited to retail chains, healthcare clinics, education sites, factory automation, branch offices, and small building deployments where rack space and device count are constrained.
Enterprise SONiC switching engine
The Marvell Prestera 98DX2556 switch ASIC runs Enterprise SONiC with OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, BGP-EVPN, MLAG and IPv6 support at 70 Gbps, alongside Layer 2/Layer 3 IPv4 and IPv6 operation and security features including ACL and 802.1X authentication — the same routing and switching foundation used across the CX-M family, running independently of the DPU compute layer.
Marvell OCTEON CN9130 DPU compute
One or two Marvell OCTEON TX2 CN9130 DPUs sit on the backplane, each with a 4-core Arm Cortex-A72 CPU and hardware encryption engines, reachable over 10G Ethernet. One DPU ships with Ubuntu or Debian pre-installed, the other with OpenWrt; CentOS, openSUSE, Arch Linux, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Linux Mint and elementary OS are also supported, with OS install and upgrade via USB using Trusted Firmware and UEFI — giving each DPU a general-purpose Linux environment for gateway, firewall, or application workloads alongside the switch.
PoE++ power delivery
All 16 ports support PoE+ (802.3at, 30W/port), with 8 of the 16 ports additionally configurable for PoE++ (802.3bt, 60W/port), up to a 150W total power budget — enough to power IP phones, access points, and cameras at the same site the DPUs are serving compute to.
Optional precision timing
An optional PTP module adds nanosecond-level timing accuracy across network devices, supporting accurate latency measurement between endpoints, telemetry, packet scheduling, log synchronization, and consistent timing across redundant systems.
Compact footprint for edge deployments
The CX102S-16GT-M-DPU-SWP fits the same rack space as a standard access switch while adding independent compute. A single built-in power supply and two built-in fans keep the design simple, with a 100–240V AC input and 0–45°C operating range for standard indoor deployments.
Optimized Software for Advanced Workloads-AsterNOS
AsterNOS is the pre-installed network operating system on Asteraix’s CX-M Series campus switches. Built on SONiC and enhanced beyond the open-source version, AsterNOS offers advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, as well as sophisticated routing capabilities. Support VXLAN EVPN virtualization, it supports scalable campus networks. AsterNOS is smart, secure, and easy to manage, providing a reliable operating platform for always-on enterprise networks.
