The bridge between switch and AI server — connecting QSFP56-DD switch ports to OSFP112-RHS NIC ports at full 400 Gbps. Dual-mode PAM4 signaling: 8×56G on the switch side, 4×112G on the NIC side. No optics, no fiber, no complexity.
The Asteraix AEC-400G-QDD-OSFP112R is a 400G Active Electrical Cable that solves a critical infrastructure challenge: connecting QSFP56-DD switch ports (which use 8 lanes of 56G PAM4) to OSFP112-RHS NIC ports (which use 4 lanes of 112G PAM4) — two different electrical interfaces, one seamless copper connection at 400Gbps.
Unlike passive copper DACs, this AEC incorporates active signal conditioning chips inside each connector head, enabling clean 400G transmission up to 2.5 meters on 32AWG copper — without a single optical component. Compliant with QSFP-DD MSA, OSFP MSA, and CMIS 5.2, it supports the full I²C management interface for real-time diagnostics, threshold monitoring, and module configuration. Power consumption is optimized independently per end: ≤7.5W at the QSFP-DD switch side and ≤6.5W at the OSFP-RHS NIC side.
